John, to the seven churches that are in Asia- grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the Seven Spirits who are before His throne
(Revelation 1:4).

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood
(Revelation 1:5).

Are there any Bible scriptures that might help us understand these verses here in Revelation? In my opinion I think so-

Revelation 1:4
(Written by God through the Apostle) John, to the seven (select) churches that are in Asia- (greetings) grace and peace to you- from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the Seven Spirits who are before His throne.

Greetings to You From God the Father

God the Father is the One who sits on the throne in Heaven. He sends greetings to you (eirene in Greek meaning peace) and to the Seven Churches of Asia. There were more than seven churches in Asia but God selected these seven as representatives at that time...the seven churches that are in Asia- to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea (Revelation 1:11). And there are more than seven churches today- each under His watchful eye and the watchful eye of the Head of the Church, Jesus Christ.

(Greetings to You) from God the Holy Spirit
[The Seven Spirits who are before His throne in symbolism]

It appears that some of His symbolic names are the Seven Spirits of God and the Seven Lamps of Fire. The Seven lamps of fire...are the Seven Spirits of God (Revelation 4:5). That appears to be a reference from the Old Testament scroll of Zechariah-
...these seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world
(Zechariah 4:10).

There is revelation of the Seven Spirits of God in some scrolls of Revelation:

It appears that this symbolic revelation of God the Holy Spirit is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
John, to the seven churches that are in Asia- Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne
(Revelation 1:4).

This symbolism is also revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Six-
And to the angel of the church in Sardis write-
He who has the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things- I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead
(Revelation 3:1).

And this symbolism is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
...Seven burning lamps of fire were before the throne that are the seven Spirits of God
(Revelation 4:5).

And I looked, and behold, in the middle of the throne and of the four Living Beings, and in the middle of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, that are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth
(Revelation 5:6).

God the Holy Spirit is also symbolically associated with fire:
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few-

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire
(Matthew 3:11).

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night
(Exodus 13:21). He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night
(Psalm 105:39).

Their buds and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole thing was one beaten work of pure gold. He made its seven (burning) lamps...of pure gold
(Exodus 37:22-23).

So Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty- if I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men. And fire came down from Heaven and consumed him and his fifty
(2 Kings 1:10).

Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning
(Luke 12:35).

God the Holy Spirit reveals this about Himself:
You shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it. And its wick-trimmers and their trays shall be of pure gold. It shall be made of a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. And see to it that you make them according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain
(Exodus 25:37-40).

Speak to Aaron, and tell him- when you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lamp stand
(Numbers 8:2).

It will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps...
(Zephaniah).

...these seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world
(Zechariah 4:10).

When Aaron lights the lamps at evening- he shall burn it a perpetual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations
(Exodus 30:8).

Let us take a look at a few more scriptures that reveal God the Holy Spirit-

The Prophet, Isaiah, under inspiration, had this to say about God the Holy Spirit-
...and the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord
(Isaiah 11:2).

The Apostle John, under inspiration, penned the words of Jesus in regards to God the Holy Spirit-
...if you love Me, you will obey Me. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The evil world system cannot receive Him because it does not see Him or recognize Him. But you recognize Him because He lives with you and will be in you
(John 14:15-17). But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at My request, will teach you (all relevant spiritual) things, and He will bring to your recall all that I have taught you (everything that is pertinent)
(John 14:26). But when the Comforter has come, Whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, Who procees from the Father, He shall testify of Me
(John 15:26)...when...the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak His own agenda (message) but whatever comes from the throne is what He will say, and He will declare to you (some) things to come. He will give Me glory, because He will take of what is Mine, and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine- that is why I say, He will take of what is Mine and will declare it to you
(John 16:13-15).

The expression "the seven Spirits that are before His throne" can also mean "the Seven Spirits in the presence of His throne". Why is God the Holy Spirit referred to that way? The Greek word for "spirits" is Pneuma, and in this context it refers to God the Holy Spirit. Let us further look at some of the symbolism for God the Holy Spirit as found in other biblical scrolls-
And there shall come forth a plant shoot out of the tree trunk of Jesse, and a Branch out of his roots shall be fruitful- and the spirit of the Lord shall rest on Him-
(1) the spirit of wisdom and
(2) understanding,
(3) the spirit of counsel and
(4) might (power),
(5) the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord, and
(6) righteousness will be the cord of his robe, and
(7) faithfulness will be the band round his breast
(Isaiah 11:1-5).

So, this scripture above appears to be a partial description of Him. Jesus said-
...the Spirit of truth...will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but whatever things He hears, He will speak. He will declare to you the things that are to come
(John 16:13).

The Throne of God the Son

In some societies of the past, a wide throne was utilized to allow two rulers to sit on it at the same time. It appears that the throne of God the Father and the throne of God the Son are the same in Heaven.

The throne of Christ is revealed in the scrolls of Revelation:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Eight-
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne
(Revelation 3:21).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
She (Israel) bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne
(Revelation 12:5).

And it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Twelve-
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Revelation 22:1)...and there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him
(Revelation 22:3).

Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? I think so:

Christ mentioned His throne-
So Jesus said to them- assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel
(Matthew 19:28).

Each royal Overcomer will live and reign with Christ. Royalty reveals a sharing of Christ's throne (Revelation 3:21).
Christ...has made us kings...to His God and Father...
(Revelation 1:5-6).

As well, each Overcomer will share Christ's throne and have the authority of a royal judge-
Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? (1 Corinthians 6:2).

And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me (Luke 22:29).

The Throne of God the Holy Spirit

It appears that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit share a throne in Heaven:

This is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
John, to the seven churches that are in Asia...from the Seven Spirits Who are in the presence of the same throne
(Revelation 1:4).

and it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven Lamps of Fire were burning in the presence of the throne that are the Seven Spirits of God
(Revelation 4:5).

And I looked, and behold, in the middle of the throne and of the four Living Beings, and in the midle of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, that are the Seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth
(Revelation 5:6).

Is there another scroll in the bible that also appears to reveal this? I think so-

God's Unity
I and My Father are one (John 10:30)...and the glory that You gave Me I have given them- that they may be one just as We are one
(John 17:22).

The Number, Seven

7
The number, seven, is used much in this bible book. It is sometimes used symbolically to mean completeness or totality, fulness, and perfection. Sometimes it is used as a sacred number in the Old Testament. For instance, God rested on the seventh day of creation
(Genesis 2:3, Ezekiel 20:12). Some sacrifices involved the number, seven
(Numbers 23:1; 2 Chronicles 29:21). Some of God's activities involved the number, seven
(Joshua 6:4,15-16; 2 Kings 5:10). Some of the feasts involved the number, seven
(Deuteronomy 15:1, 16:8-9 & 13 and 15). This number is constantly repeated through Revelation as there are seven churches, seven spirits, seven seals, seven trumpets, seven thunders, seven bowls, and more.

The seven churches in Asia

The seven churches were in Asia or what we know today in history as Asia minor. Asia comprised a large part of the known world at that time. At first, Greece ruled that area for many years but then the Romans conquered that area some time later. King Attalus III, King of Pergamos, gave the entire area to the Romans that included the smaller kingdoms of Phrygia, Mysia, Lycaonia, Lydia, Pisidia, and more. Then the area was governed by a Roman proconsul. The area around Lydia was named Ionia- of which Ephesus was the principal city.
The term "Asia" did not mean in the first century what it does now, but only the Roman province called Asia. The western part of this providence was known as Asia Minor (now a part of the nation of Turkey). All the seven churches were in that province. General Jesus has ordered each church to share Christ's gospel with every person on the face of this earth-
And He (Jesus) said to them, "you go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every person"
(Mark 16:15).
In other words this commandment scripture in Mark simply means to share His Word with others. Is your church obeying its orders from General Jesus, the Lord of Armies?

Thrones in Revelation
[...before His throne]

There are some thrones revealed in the Revelation Scrolls. Let us take a brief look at some of them-

The Throne of God the Father

The throne of God the Father is revealed in several Revelation scrolls:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...before His throne
(Revelation 1:4).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Eight-
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit...down with My Father on His throne
(Revelation 3:21).

It is revealed several times in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
...a throne set in Heaven, and One sat on the throne (Revelation 4:2)...before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal...
(Revelation 4:6)...whenever the Living Beings give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying- You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power- for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created
(Revelation 4:9-11).

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals (Revelation 5:1)...in the middle of the throne...stood a Lamb as though it had been slain- having seven horns and seven eyes, that are the Seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth (Revelation 5:6)...then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne (Revelation 5:7)...then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne (Revelation 5:11)...saying- blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever
(Revelation 5:13)...

I looked, and behold, a great multitude...standing before the throne and before the Lamb...crying out with a loud voice, saying- salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! All...fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying- Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen
(Revelation 7:9-12).

Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that was before the throne
(Revelation 8:3).

and it is revealed more than once in Revelation Scroll Number Ten-
And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of Heaven- from the throne, saying- It is done!
(Revelation 16:16-17).

And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying- Amen! Alleluia! Then a voice came from the throne, saying- praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him- both small and great
(Revelation 19:4-5).

Revelation 1:5
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

Greetings to You from Jesus Christ

God the Father and God the Holy Spirit have already said "hello" to you, so now, Jesus says "hello" to you also.

This scripture speaks of the eternal existence of Jesus Christ because He is God the Son. Jesus repeats this truth about Himself in verse eight.

You have just been greeted by the three Persons in the Holy Trinity. These three are one and are the most important, holy, and powerful in all of creation.

Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness

Jesus Christ as a true and faithful witness is seen in the scrolls of Revelation:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness (Revelation 1:5).

and it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Eight-
...these things says...the Faithful and True Witness (Revelation 3:14).

Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes-

So they said to Jeremiah- let the Lord be a true and faithful witness between us...
(Jeremiah 42:5).

There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness that He witnesses of Me is true (John 5:32)...but I have a greater witness than John's- for the works that the Father has given Me to finish- the very works that I do- bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me
(John 5:36).

Jesus answered and said to them- even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true
(John 8:14)...I AM One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me
(John 8:18).

Jesus answered them- I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you
(John 10:25-26).

...I AM a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice
(John 18:37).

So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words that proceeded out of His mouth
(Luke 4:22).

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate
(1 Timothy 6:13).

Jesus Christ- the Ruler Over the Kings of the Earth

Christ as future world political ruler is revealed in several Revelation scrolls:

The fact that Christ will rule the nations of the world is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth...
(Revelation 1:5).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Five-
They (My Overcomers) will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. They will have the same authority I received from My Father...
(Revelation 2:27).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron...
(Revelation 12:5).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Ten-
Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested
(Revelation 15:4).

And it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Eleven-
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron...
(Revelation 19:15).

So, what are some possible select biblical scriptures for the above verses in Revelation?

Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron- You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel
(Psalm 2:8-9).

But to the Son He says- Your throne, O God, is forever and ever- a scepter of righteousness is the rod of Your Kingdom
(Hebrews 1:8).

His seed shall endure forever, and His throne as the sun before Me- it shall be established forever like the moon- even like the faithful witness in the sky- Selah
(Psalm 89:36-37).

Christ washed us from our sins in His own blood

The redemptive blood of Christ is revealed in several Revelation scrolls:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One-
...and from Jesus Christ...who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood
(Revelation 1:5).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
...You are worthy...for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood
(Revelation 5:9).

...these are the ones who...washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb
(Revelation 7:14).

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11).

and it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number eleven-
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God
(Revelation 19:13).

Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Here are a few-

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin
(1 John 1:7).

Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we will be saved from God`s anger through Him
(Romans 5:9).

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption
(Hebrews 9:12).

Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can a man be more pure than his Maker?
(Job 4:17).

...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus
(Romans 3:23-26).

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under Heaven, that is given among men, in which we must be saved!
(Acts 4:12).

Jesus said to him- I AM the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me
(John 14:6).

How about you? Have you accepted the Lord and invited Him to live in your heart? Tell the Lord you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive you. When He enters your heart (you can feel this) then you will have peace there and a conscience free of guilt. You will be a different person inside with a love for God, a desire to study the bible, and go to church.
