Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The Devil will throw some of you
into prison and put you to the test. You will be persecuted for ten days. Remain
faithful even when facing death, and I will give you the crown of life
Revelation 2:10
(Revelation 2:10).
He who has a (spiritual) ear, let him hear what the (Holy) Spirit says to the
churches- he who Overcomes will not be hurt by the second death
(Revelation 2:11).
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The Devil will throw some of you
into prison and put you to the test. You will be persecuted for ten days.
Remain faithful even when facing death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Suffering, Persecution, and Death
This is a test for Overcomers. Remember, those who are hostile to you are not really attacking
you but the Jesus inside of you. God reveals the hostility of the wicked towards God's
righteous in several scrolls of Revelation:
It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Four-
...Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you...(Revelation 2:13).
...their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were...(Revelation 6:11).
It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them...(Revelation 13:7).
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets (Revelation 16:6).
I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus
(Revelation 17:6).
These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and
King of kings- and those who are with Him are called chosen and faithful
(Revelation 17:14).
And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints (Revelation 18:24).
They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and
the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of Heaven and devoured them
(Revelation 20:9).
But I tell you not to withstand a wicked man, but if any one strikes you on the right
cheek, turn the other to him as well
(Matthew 5:39).
And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved
(Matthew 10:22).
Remember the word that I said to you- a servant is not greater than his master.
If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you...
(John 15:20).

I am not writing a major commentary in this book, however, this test may take a little simple explaining.
First, there is God. Secondly, there is Satan. Thirdly, there is your free will choice.
The test is simple and it is for every person on earth. This is the test- who will you choose to worship, God
or Satan? This test has been going on since the creation of modern mankind. Adam and Eve
were tested and changed their allegiance from God to Satan (Romans chapter 5). The children of
Adam and Eve were tested- Abel chose God, Cain chose Satan, and Seth chose God. And then we get
down to you and I. You were not asked to be born. It was not your will to be here on this
earth but God has a purpose for your existence- He wants you to choose Him, therefore, you and
I have to be put to the test to determine that.
God reveals the test in several scrolls of Revelation:
It is revealed here in Revelation Scroll Number Three-
...the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested
(Revelation 2:10).
...the hour of trial that shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth
(Revelation 3:10).
Jesus passed the test (Matthew 4:1-11).
(1 Kings 18:21).
(2 Kings 1:15-17).
(Matthew 7:26-27).

What does this crown mean? In symbolism it simply means eternal life. Eternal life will be
given as a reward to each of God's Overcomers. Also a crown can be a symbol for righteousness and
honor. Christ revealed the truth that He was a king (Luke 23:3).
In symbolism, one who wears more than one crown is above all those who only wear one crown.
Christ wears many crowns- that means He is King of Kings.
God reveals a crown in several scrolls of Revelation:
It is revealed here in Revelation Scroll Number Three-
...be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
(Revelation 2:10).
I AM coming quickly- cling to that which you already possess, so that your crown of victory
be not taken away from you
(Revelation 3:11 Weymouth New Testament).
Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son
of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle
(Revelation 14:14).
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a
name written that no one knew except Himself
(Revelation 19:12).
(James 1:12 Weymouth New Testament).
...there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, that the Lord, the Righteous
Judge, will give to me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing
(2 Timothy 4:8).
...and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not
fade away
(1 Peter 5:4).
And every man who takes part in the sports has self-control in all things. Now they
do it to get a crown that is of this world, but we for an eternal crown
(1 Corinthians 9:25 Basic English).
