Write (in a scroll) this letter to the angel (minister) of the church in Pergamum. This is the message from the One who has a sharp two-edged sword
(Revelation 2:12).

I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells
(Revelation 2:13).

Revelation 2:12
Write (in a scroll) this letter to the angel (minister) of the church in Pergamum. This is the message from the One who has a sharp two-edged sword.

Write a Scroll Letter to the Angel of the Church in Pergamum

Christ commanded the Word of God to be written. The angel of Pergamum is revealed to be one of seven such angels in symbolism. It appears this revelation was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Two (Revelation 2:1). Please journey there for Gods's message or

General Jesus Has a Sharp Two Edged Sword

Sometimes Christ uses the symbolic sword from His mouth for His own purposes. Such a sword is an offensive weapon used in spiritual warfare. What does He fight against in Pergamum? Among other things, He fights against Satan, those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, and those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. It appears this sword was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One (Revelation 1:16). Please journey there for Gods's message or

Revelation 2:13
I know your works, and where you dwell where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Your Works

Who we are and what we do for Christ is very important. It appears that works for Christ was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Two (Revelation 2:2). Please journey there for Gods's message or

Satan's (Counterfeit) Throne

What does God reveal to us in Revelation about Satan's counterfeit throne? Let us take a look:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Four-
I know your works, and where you dwell where Satan's throne is...
(Revelation 2:13).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Nine-
The Great Serpent (dragon) gave him his power, his throne, and great authority...
(Revelation 13:2).

and it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Ten-
Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness- and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain
(Revelation 16:10).

Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? Yes. Whatever God has, Satan has a counterfeit for it. Why? Because Satan declares himself to be divine and wants worship. One who receives worship must have a throne to rule from. How do we know that Satan wants worship? Satan told Jesus- "all these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me"
(Matthew 4:9). More about Satan and his counterfeit throne has also been revealed in another scripture-
...for you (Satan) have said in your heart- I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God- I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds- I will be (worshiped) like the Most High. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol- to the lowest depths of the (Bottomless) Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying- is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?
(Isaiah 14:13-17).

The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever
(Revelation 20:10).

Hold Fast

What does hold fast mean? It simply means to keep a tight grip on something and not let it go.

An encouragement from the Lord is for every Overcomer to hold on tightly to their faith. This is revealed in several scrolls of Revelation:

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Four-
...you hold fast to My name and did not deny My faith (Revelation 2:13).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Five-
...hold fast what you have till I come (Revelation 2:25).

It is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Six-
...remember therefore in what way you have received and heard- hold fast...(Revelation 3:3).

and it is revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Seven-
...behold, I AM coming quickly! Hold fast what you have that no one may take your crown
(Revelation 3:11).

So, what is a possible select bible scripture for this verse here in Revelation?

Jude's Call to Remain Faithful-
But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ told you- that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to enjoy themselves in every evil way imaginable. Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have God's Spirit living in them. But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in His mercy is going to give you. Show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. There are still others to whom you need to show mercy, but be careful that you are not contaminated by their sins
(Jude 1:17-23).

Did Not Deny My Faith

It appears this scripture stands alone in Revelation and is not repeated in multiple scrolls:

It is found once here is Revelation Scroll Number Four:
...did not deny My faith (Revelation 2:13).

Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this kind of positive faith? Yes. Here are a few:

...therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father Who is in Heaven
(Matthew 10:32).

Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God
(Luke 12:8).

...here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus
(Revelation 14:12).

A Martyr, Antipas, who was Killed

Who was Antipas? No one knows for sure. According to John Gill (Exposition of the Entire Bible, 1887), "Antipas, is thought by some, to have been the pastor of the church at Pergamos. Though, according to the Apostolical Constitutions, Caius was the first bishop of it; and it appears, that in the second century there were several in this place that suffered martyrdom for Christ, as Carpus, Papulus, and a woman whose name was Agathonice. Attalus, the martyr, who suffered in the same century, was also a native of this place."

The death of God's Overcomers was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Three
(Revelation 2:10). Please journey there for Gods's message or
