One Who is the Amen- the Faithful and True Witness, the Origin, Beginning, and Author
of God's creation
(Revelation 3:14).
I know your works- you are neither cold nor hot- I would that you were cold or hot
(Revelation 3:15).
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth
(Revelation 3:16).

Some examples of lukewarmness or being in the middle between two extremes-
Revelation 3:16
Any individual who chooses to stay in the middle and stay spiritually lukewarm
will be vomited out of the Lord's life. That was very strong chastisement for
the folks in the church at Laodicea then and a strong message to any individual
today who chooses to be that way and to stay that way.
God reveals again the fact that Jesus Christ is the faithful witness:

In my opinion the meaning of this scripture portion is found in two parts. The first part
includes the revelation that Jesus Christ is the Beginning and Ending.
It appears this revelation was previously revealed in Revelation Scroll Number One
(Revelation 1:8). Please journey there for Gods's message or

It appears this revelation was previously revealed at the beginning of this book in God's
Plan of the Ages. Please journey there for Gods's message or
He (Jesus Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him
all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for
Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the
body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may
have the preeminence
(Colossians 1:15-18).
I know your works -you are neither cold nor hot- I would that you were cold or hot.
Christ knew all about them, especially their works. It appears this revelation was previously
revealed in Revelation Scroll Number Two
(Revelation 2:2). Please journey there for Gods's message or
Cold and heat are extreme opposites with lukewarmness in the middle. Sometimes, God makes
these kinds of examples in order to communicate with us. In this instance He is referring to
a spiritual condition.
It appears this scripture stand alone in Revelation and is not repeated in multiple scrolls.
It is found here in Revelation Scroll Number Eight-
...you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are
lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth
(Revelation 3:15-16).
(Song of Solomon 8:6).
And they said to one another- did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road,
and while He opened the Scriptures to us?
(Luke 24:32).
John (the Baptist) answered, saying to all- I indeed baptize you with water- but One
mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you
with the Holy Spirit and fire (Luke 3:16)...When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were
all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven, as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And they saw tongues of
what looked like fire distributing themselves over the assembly, and on the head of each person
a tongue alighted. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
(Acts 2:1-4).
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one
another- not lagging in diligence, hot in spirit, serving the Lord- rejoicing in hope,
patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer- distributing to the needs of the
saints, given to hospitality
(Romans 12:10-13).

(1 Kings 18:21).
So these nations (that comprised the Samaritans) feared the Lord, yet served their carved
idols- also their children and their children's children have continued doing as their fathers
did, even to this day
(2 Kings 17:41).
(Matthew 6:24).
So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Sometimes, vomiting happens when a person gets sick. So, what is the meaning here?
Simply put, they made the Lord sick.
It appears this scripture stands alone in Revelation and is not repeated in multiple scrolls.
Are there other scrolls in the bible that appear to reveal this? I think so.
The Seventh Plague on Ancient Egypt
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like
it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation
(Exodus 9:24).
In this passage of scripture there seems to be a literal mixture of hot and cold (fire and hail).
Such a circumstance usually yields lukewarmness. It appears that the good Lord through this symbolism is teaching us something
about spiritual lukewarmness that results when hot is mixed with cold. A spiritual condition
like that makes Him sick and will result in His judgement (vomited out of His mouth in symbolism).
(2 Kings 17:33)...and (they) burned their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech,
the gods of Sepharvaim...(2 Kings 17:31).
As mentioned before the early Samaritans believed in God, on one hand, while worshipping idols (Satan) with the
other hand. They steered a spiritual lukewarm middle of the road course between God and Satan.
That did not spiritually fly with the Lord and the devout Hebrews despised the Samaritans for it.
It appears some Laodiceans in the church were doing the same thing. They were
professing Christ with one hand while holding on to their idol (their material riches and
wealth) with their other hand. They were walking down the middle of the road wanting the
best of both worlds. However, both worlds are polar opposites. The kingdom of Satan (the evil
world system) is opposite to the kingdom of God. Having no spiritual integrity is
considered to be spiritually cold. Having great spiritual intensity is considered to be
spiritually hot. But being in the middle is considered by the Lord to be lukewarm. It might
be better for one to be on one side or the other rather than in the middle.
(Luke 16:15).
(2 Peter 2:17-22).
