Some Prophesies From The Prophet, Isaiah, and Their Fulfillment
Here is some scriptural proof from the bible book of Isaiah
that Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah (God the anointed One)
Written by Kraig Josiah Rice
Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is the Light
This scripture is found in Isaiah-
The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon
give light to you- but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.
Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself- for the
Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended
(Isaiah 60:19-20).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of John and
Revelation
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying- I AM the light of the world. He who follows
Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life
(John 8:12).
The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of
God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk
in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it
(Revelation 21:23-24).
Jesus Christ is the Messiah Redeemer
These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of Armies is His name- and your Redeemer is
the Holy One of Israel- He is called the God of the whole earth
(Isaiah 54:5).
Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have
put My Spirit upon Him- He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the
street. A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench- He will
bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established
justice in the earth- and the coastlands shall wait for His law.
Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread
forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, and
spirit to those who walk on it- I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold
Your hand- I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the
Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in
darkness from the prison house. I AM the Lord, that is My name- and My glory I will not give to
another, nor My praise to carved images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new
things I declare- before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing to the Lord a new song, and
His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,
you coastlands and you inhabitants of them!
(Isaiah 42:1-10).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Book of John
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was
made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in
the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it
(John 1:5).
One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's
brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him- we have found the Messiah
(that is translated, the Christ)
(John 1:40-41).
The woman said to Him- I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ). When He comes, He
will tell us all things. Jesus said to her- I who speak to you AM He
(John 4:25-26).
Jesus Christ, the Messiah, is the First and the Last (eternal existence)
These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
Who has done such mighty deeds, directing the affairs of the human race as each new
generation marches by? It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last. I alone AM He
(Isaiah 41:4).
Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called- I AM He, I AM the First, I Am also
the Last
(Isaiah 48:12).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Book of Revelation
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
saying- I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last...
(Revelation 1:11).
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to
me- Do not be afraid- I AM the First and the Last.
I AM He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I AM alive forevermore. Amen. And I have
the keys of Hades and of Death
(Revelation 1:17-18).
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write- these things says the First and the
Last, who was dead, and came to life...
(Revelation 2:8).
And behold, I AM coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to
his work. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last
(Revelation 22:12-13).
The Messiah is Righteous
Look at My Servant, whom I strengthen. He is My chosen One, and I AM pleased with Him. I have
put My Spirit upon Him. He will reveal justice to the nations. He will be gentle- He will not
shout or raise His voice in public. He will not crush those who are weak or quench the smallest
hope. He will bring full justice to all who have been wronged. He will not stop until truth and
righteousness prevail throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for His
instruction
(Isaiah 42:1-4).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Bible Book of Matthew
...that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying- behold! My
Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit
upon Him, and He will declare justice to the Gentiles
(Matthew 12:16).
Jesus, the Messiah, is Merciful and Shows Kindness
With a little anger I hid My face from you for a moment- but with everlasting
kindness I will have mercy on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer.
For this is like the waters of Noah to Me- for as I have sworn that the waters of
Noah would no longer cover the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you,
nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall
not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has
mercy on you
(Isaiah 54:8-10).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of
Hebrews, Luke, Romans, and Ephesians
God is Merciful- He Showed Mercy to Noah and Others-
By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear,
prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became
heir of the righteousness that is according to faith
(Hebrews 11:7; Genesis 6:13-22).
And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation (Luke 1:50).
For He says to Moses- I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will
have compassion on whomever I will have compassion
(Romans 9:15).
Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins. You used to live just like
the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air.
He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to
live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature. We were born with an
evil nature, and we were under God's anger just like everyone else. But God is so rich in
mercy, and He loved us so very much, that even while we were dead because of our sins, He gave
us life when He raised Christ from the dead
(Ephesians 2:1-5).
God is Kind
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law
(Galatians 5:22-23).
...that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His
kindness toward us in Christ Jesus
(Ephesians 2:7).
Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled by others and became slaves to
many wicked desires and evil pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy. We hated others,
and they hated us. But then God our Savior showed us His kindness and love. He saved us, not
because of the good things we did, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins and gave
us a new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us because of
what Jesus Christ our Savior did. He declared us not guilty because of His great kindness. And
now we know that we will inherit eternal life
(Titus 3:3-7).
God the Holy Spirit Anointed the Messiah
These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
Look at My servant, Whom I strengthen. He is my Elect One, and I AM pleased with Him.
I have put My Spirit upon Him. He will reveal justice to the gentiles. He will be
gentle- He will not shout or raise His voice in public. He will not crush those who are weak
or quench the smallest hope. He will bring full justice to all who have been wronged. He will
not stop until truth and righteousness prevail throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond
the sea will wait for His instruction
(Isaiah 42:1-4).
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord
(Isaiah 11:2).
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach
good tidings to the poor- He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound...
(Isaiah 61:1).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Book of Matthew
Then He (Jesus) said to the man- stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and it was
restored as whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they
might destroy Him. But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes
followed Him, and He healed them all. Yet He warned them not to make Him known,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying- Behold! My Servant
whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him,
and He will declare justice to the Gentiles
(Matthew 12:13-18).
Jesus Christ- the Spiritual Rock and Foundation Stone for Israel
These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
Therefore thus says the Lord God- look, I AM placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem- a tested
and precious cornerstone that is safe to build on- a sure foundation. He who believes, let him
not act quickly
(Isaiah 28:16).
For the Lord, controlling me with a strong hand, gave me orders not to go in the way of this
people, saying- do not say- it is holy, about everything that this people says is holy- and do
not be in fear of what they go in fear of. But let the Lord of Armies be holy to you, and go
in fear of Him, giving honour to Him. And He will be a holy place- a stone of falling and a
rock of trouble to the two houses of Israel, and to the men of Jerusalem, for a net in which
they may be taken. And numbers of them, falling on the stone, will be broken, and will be taken
in the net. Let my teaching be kept secret- and my words be given to my disciples only.
And I will be waiting for the Lord, whose face is veiled from the house of Jacob, and I will be
looking for him. See, I and the children whom the Lord has given me, are for signs and for
wonders in Israel from the Lord of Armies, whose resting-place is in Mount Zion
(Isaiah 8:11-18).
Moses was to pray to the Lord (the Rock of Ages in symbolism) for blessing, not physically strike Him-
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying- take the rod- you and your brother Aaron gather the
congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water- thus
you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their
animals. So Moses took the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him. And Moses and Aaron
gathered the assembly together before the rock- and he said to them- hear now, you rebels- must
we bring water for you out of this rock? Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice
with his rod- and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron- because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the
eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land
that I have given them
(Numbers 20:7-12).
It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of Matthew, Romans,
Acts, First Corinthians, and First Peter. Please note that the spiritually negative
stumbling stone is also the same spiritually positive cornerstone of faith.
For I would have you remember, brethren, how our forefathers were all of them sheltered by
the cloud, and all got safely through the Red Sea. All were baptized in the cloud and in the
sea to be followers of Moses. All ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual
drink- for they long drank the water that flowed from the spiritual rock that went
with them- and that rock was Christ
(I Corinthians 10:1-4).
As it is written- behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense- whoever believes
on Him will not be put to shame
(Romans 9:33).
This is the stone that was rejected by you builders, that has become the chief cornerstone.
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men
by which we must be saved
(Acts 4:11-12).
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer
up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained
in the Scripture- behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who
believes on Him will by no means be put to shame. Therefore, to you who believe, He is
precious- but to those who are disobedient, the stone that the builders rejected has become the
chief cornerstone- a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense. They stumble, being disobedient
to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light- who once were not a people but are
now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy
(1 Peter 2:4-10).

Many Jews now believe that Jesus Christ is their God, however, some do not- what about
them?
Jesus said to them- have you never read in the Scriptures- the stone that the builders
rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in
our eyes? Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a
nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken- but on
whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder
(Matthew 21:42-44)
...but we preach Christ crucified- to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the
wisdom of God
(1 Corinthians 1:23-24).
What does that mean?
It simply means that some Jews denied the fact that Jesus Christ was their God and the
fact that He was crucified as a sacrifice for their sins (Galatians 3:1). This was the
spiritual stone over which they spiritually stumbled. As well, the Greeks (gentiles) could not
handle the fact that Jesus Christ raised from the dead. This was foolishness to them.
