Some Prophesies From The Prophet, Isaiah, and Their Fulfillment

Here is some scriptural proof from the bible book of Isaiah
that Jesus Christ is the Jewish Messiah (God the anointed One)

Written by Kraig Josiah Rice

Trying Times Ahead in the Last Days

These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
They shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, from the terror of the Lord and the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily. In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, that they made, each for himself to worship, to the moles and bats, to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the crags of the rugged rocks, from the terror of the Lord and the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth mightily
(Isaiah 2:19-21).

Then I said- Lord, how long? And He answered-
until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, the houses are without a man, the land is utterly desolate, The Lord has removed men far away, and the forsaken places are many in the middle of the land
(Isaiah 6:11-12).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of Daniel, Luke, and Revelation

He (anti-Christ) will flatter those who have violated the covenant and win them over to his side. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him. Those who are wise will give instruction to many. But for a time many of these teachers will die by fire and sword, or they will be jailed and robbed. While all these persecutions are going on, a little help will arrive, though many who join them will not be sincere. And some who are wise will fall victim to persecution. In this way, they will be refined and cleansed and made pure until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come. The king will do as he pleases, exalting himself and claiming to be greater than every god there is, even blaspheming the God of gods. He will succeed- until the time of anger is completed. For what has been determined will surely take place. He will have no regard for the gods of his ancestors, or for the god beloved of women, or for any other god, for he will boast that he is greater than them all
(Daniel 11:32-37).

But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the middle of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things that are written may be fulfilled
(Luke 21:20-22).

So the angel took me in spirit into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns, written all over with blasphemies against God...I could see that she was drunk- drunk with the blood of God's holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her completely amazed
(Revelation 17:3 and 6).

Do to her as she has done to your people. Give her a double penalty for all her evil deeds. She brewed a cup of terror for others, so give her twice as much as she gave out. She has lived in luxury and pleasure, so match it now with torments and sorrows. She boasts- I am queen on my throne. I am no helpless widow. I will not experience sorrow
(Revelation 18:6-7).

And the rulers of the world who took part in her immoral acts and enjoyed her great luxury will mourn for her as they see the smoke rising from her charred remains. They will stand at a distance, terrified by her great torment. They will cry out- how terrible, how terrible for Babylon, that great city! In one single moment God's judgment came on her. The merchants of the world will weep and mourn for her, for there is no one left to buy their goods. She bought great quantities of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple dye, silk, scarlet cloth, every kind of perfumed wood, ivory goods, objects made of expensive wood, bronze, iron, and marble. She also bought cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, chariots, and slaves- yes, she even traded in human lives. All the fancy things you loved so much are gone, they cry. The luxuries and splendor that you prized so much will never be yours again. They are gone forever...in her streets the blood of the prophets was spilled. She was the one who slaughtered God's people all over the world
(Revelation 18:9-14 and 24).

The Return of God's Saved Elect to Israel
A Remnant of Israel Will Be Saved

These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
In God's way and timing many saved folks will return to Israel in those days. God says-
Do not be afraid, for I AM with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west and from north and south. I will bring My sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth. All who claim Me as their God will come, for I have made them for My glory. It was I who created them-
(Isaiah 43:5-7).

He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth
(Isaiah 11:12).

In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious- and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped
(Isaiah 4:2).

And it shall come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, will never again depend on him who defeated them, but will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. In truth the remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Mighty God. For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, a remnant of them will return- the destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For the Lord God of Armies will make a determined end in the middle of all the land
(Isaiah 10:20-23).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of Acts and Romans

Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel- though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved. For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth. And as Isaiah said before- unless the Lord of Sabbath had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have been made like Gomorrah
(Romans 9:27-29).

And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written- after this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen down- I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up- so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord- who does all these things
(Acts 15:15-17).

For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls
(1 Peter 2:25).

Wings like Eagles

...how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case? Have you never heard or understood? Do not you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to those who are tired and worn out- He offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint
(Isaiah 40:27-31).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Book of Revelation
But she was given two wings like those of a great eagle. This allowed her to fly to the place assigned her in the wilderness, where she would be cared for and protected from the serpent for a time, times, and half a time
(Revelation 12:14).

The Day of the Lord-
Much Trouble During the End Times

These scriptures are found in Isaiah-
For the Day of the Lord of Armies shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up- and it shall be brought low
(Isaiah 2:12).

Hear the noise on the mountains! Listen, as the armies march! It is the noise and the shout of many nations. The Lord Almighty has brought them here to form an army. They came from countries far away. They are the Lord's weapons- they carry His anger with them and will destroy the whole land. Scream in terror, for the Lord's time has arrived- the time for the Almighty to destroy. Every arm is paralyzed with fear. Even the strongest hearts melt and are afraid. Fear grips them with terrible pangs, like those of a woman about to give birth. They look helplessly at one another as the flames of the burning city reflect on their faces. For see, the Day of the Lord is coming- the terrible Day of His Fury and fierce anger. The land will be destroyed and all the sinners with it. The heavens will be black above them. No light will shine from stars or sun or moon. I, the Lord, will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their sin. I will crush the arrogance of the proud and the haughtiness of the mighty. Few will be left alive when I have finished my work. People will be as scarce as gold- more rare than the gold of Ophir. For I will shake the heavens, and the earth will move from its place. I, the Lord Almighty, will show My fury and fierce anger
(Isaiah 13:4-13).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Book of Revelation

I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake- and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks- fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb! For the great Day of His Anger has come, and who is able to stand?
(Revelation 6:12-17).

(Isaiah 13:9-13).

For the day is near- even the Day of the Lord is near- it will be a day of clouds- the time of the Gentiles
(Ezekiel 30:3).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of of Acts, Second Peter, and First Thessalonians

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the Lord
(Acts 2:20).

For you yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night
(1 Thessalonians 5:2).

But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat- both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up
(2 Peter 3:10).

Literal Darkness

These scriptures are found in Isaiah-

I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity- I, the Lord, do all these things
(Isaiah 45:7).

For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light- the sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine
(Isaiah 13:10).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of of Matthew, Mark, Acts, and Revelation

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour (during Christ's crucifixion) there was darkness over all the land
(Matthew 27:45).

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the Lord
(Acts 2:20).

I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from trees shaken by mighty winds. And the sky was rolled up like a scroll and taken away. And all of the mountains and all of the islands disappeared
(Revelation 6:12-14).

Then the fourth angel sounded- and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night
(Revelation 8:12),

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light- the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken
(Matthew 24:29).

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light
(Mark 13:24).

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light
(Revelation 21:23).

Other Overcomers Who Mention Literal Darkness

In some of these scriptures we spiritually see that literal darkness was a type for spiritual darkness. It appears that literal darkness conquered Jesus Christ by death as He was dead for three days. But He spiritually conquered the darkness of death, hell, and the grave by His literal resurrection.

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go. Then the Lord said to Moses- stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness that may even be felt. So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They did not see one another- nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings
(Exodus 10:20-23).

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them- and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night
(Exodus 14:19-20).

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the Lord
(Joel 2:31).

The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness
(Joel 3:15).

And it shall come to pass in that day- says the Lord God- that I will make the sun go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in broad daylight...
(Amos 8:9).

When I put out your light, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark- I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. All the bright lights of the heavens I will make dark over you, and bring darkness upon your land- says the Lord God
(Ezekiel 32:7-8).

Spiritual Darkness

These scriptures are found in Isaiah-

...I will bring the (spiritually) blind by a way they did not know- I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them
(Isaiah 42:16).

For behold, (spiritual) darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people- but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you
(Isaiah 60:2).

...therefore justice is far from us, nor does righteousness overtake us- we look for light, but there is (spiritual) darkness- for brightness, but we walk in blackness
(Isaiah 59:9).

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil- who put (spiritual) darkness for light, and light for darkness- who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter
(Isaiah 5:20).

The people who walked in (spiritual) darkness have seen a great light- those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined
(Isaiah 9:2).

Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in (spiritual) darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God
(Isaiah 50:10).

It appears a fulfillment of this prophesy can be found in the Bible Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved (spiritual) darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil
(John 3:19).

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in (spiritual) darkness
(John 12:46).

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying- I AM the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in (spiritual) darkness, but have the light of life
(John 8:12).

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you- to open their eyes in order to turn them from (spiritual) darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God- that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me
(Acts 26:17-18).
